LIFE CHANGES

Life has a funny way of surprising you. I am a strong believer in that everything happens for a reason. Months ago, I was devastated because I received news that someone very, very close to me was pretty much moving across the country. Tears streamed down my face practically everyday as I knew that I would be staying where I currently reside. Change is hard, but it's all a learning lesson.

Ironically enough, months after this person told me that they would be moving, my boyfriend laid down some news that he was thinking about taking a job opportunity in a city about 3/4 hours away. Thankfully only for a few months. This was incredibly hard for me to face. This was my new reality.

Through all of this commotion, I thought to myself, "Stephanie, what in the hell are you going to do?". So, this is where I finally opened my eyes an realized this all has a positive outcome. Trust me, by no means do I think this is going to be easy for me, but I simply cannot be selfish. Rather, I should take this opportunity and transform it to be a positive outcome for me as well.

I came to terms that my close family member will have better opportunities when it comes to work. I also came to terms that my boyfriend will flourish in his career. After a few months of absolutely killing it, he'll come back and start up his own company.

I decided to take two summer courses this semester to up the speed of me receiving my bachelors degree in business. I will be taking this time to start up my brand, Humble Threads, which has been put on the back burner for various reasons (I will discuss in another blog post). I will also begin to dedicate more time to posting on my blog that I have neglected. Aside from that, I am going to be taking an internship opportunity in NYC to learn about the business in fashion, which will benefit me immensely.

It's crazy how everything happens for a reason. Especially, in my case at least, all at the same time. When it all started, everything just felt like an avalanche coming down at high speeds as I just stood there, about to take it head on. But now, I'm just grabbing life by the horns and conquering these changes. Remember, if you are ever stuck in a situation, like mine, just look at the positive outcomes. Put your pride and selfishness aside and look at the bigger picture. There will always be a light at the end of the tunnel. I do truly believe all of the hardships I faced a few months ago prepared me for what is to come. It was simply a blessing in disguise.
